The Department of Languages under the Institute of Languages, Social Sciences and Academic Sports (ÚJSŠ) is a university-wide department offering foreign language courses based on TUKE faculties' requirements along with optional courses. It participates actively in university-wide projects focusing on the research of modern teaching methods.
The Department of Languages offers English, German, and Slovak courses on the basis of TUKE faculties' requirements at all levels of university education. Furthermore, it offers optional courses. The aim of foreign language teaching is to prepare TUKE graduates for active communication in foreign languages in their future professional career.
Currently, the members of the Department of Languages are engaged in the research of professional language specifics, language skills and the use of modern teaching technologies. The results of their research are presented mainly at national and international conferences and published in conference proceedings and professional journals.
Language School provides language courses in English, German, French and Russian, as well as Slovak language courses for foreigners.
